

Born May 28, 1927 in Appomattox County, he was the son of the late Adolphus Benjamin Housman, Sr. and Frances Nash Housman Wooldridge and was also preceded in death by a sister, Ann Housman Brooks. Jack was a retired Parts Department Manager with John P. Hughes Motor Company with 53 ½ years of service and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a longtime member of Randolph Memorial Baptist Church, where he served as Secretary & Treasurer of the Sel Moseley Sunday School Class for eighteen years.
In addition to his wife, Jack is survived by his son, Eric B. Housman and wife Donna of Charlotte, NC; a grandson, Dylan B. Housman; sister-in-law, Joyce B. Kidd of Madison Heights; four nephews, Donald Brooks, Dennis Brooks, Jeffrey Kidd, and Greg Kidd; one niece, Michelle Dumont and his canine friend, Zoey.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 15, 2014 at Whitten Monelison Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Derik Hamby and the Rev. Mark Beck officiating. Interment will follow at Briarwood Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m., Sunday, December 14, 2014 at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
