

Born on August 11, 1931 in Troppau, Czechoslovakia, which was known as Sudetenland. She was the daughter of the late Alois and Aloisia Guril. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Donald Shuler; a son, John Shuler; her brother, Arnold Guril and her sister, Astrit Brockett.
Ada was extremely athletic and before moving to the United States at age 19, played for the handball team in Czechoslovakia. She was an excellent golfer and enjoyed golfing with her husband. She traveled the world with her husband and they were stationed in places such as Japan and Hawaii. They continued their travels even after Don’s retirement. She was a very committed and dedicated Admiral’s wife and mother of four. Ada and her husband played a pivotal role in the Medical Corps throughout Don’s 46 years of service. She was a very special lady who was greatly loved. She will forever be in our hearts.
She is survived by her children, Donald Shuler (Robin) of Madison Heights, Kathy Shuler (Michael) of Huntington Beach, CA, Eric Shuler (Gina Intinarelli) of Forestville, CA; three grandsons and seven great-grandchildren.

In April, there will be a Celebration of Life Memorial in Amherst, Virginia.
In accordance with Ada’s wishes, there will be a private inurnment held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
