Andrew “Andy” Welford Bradley, 75, of Madison Heights passed away Friday, July 6, 2018, at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of 53 years to Sylvia Mays Bradley. Born November 25, 1942, in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late Andrew Manson Bradley and the late Dorothy Bryant Bradley.
Andy was a retired foreman for the Central Virginia Electric Co-op and then worked part-time after retirement, and he was a member of First Baptist Church of Monroe. He served our country in the U.S. Army. Andy was a previous state representative for the Retreads Motorcycle Club of the State of Virginia and West Virginia for 10 years. He loved to ride his motorcycle with his wife, and loved his family dearly.
In addition to his wife, Andy is survived by his daughter, Michelle Lynne Kidd and her husband Mark of Madison Heights; four siblings, Jerry Bradley of Lynchburg, David Carroll Bradley and his wife Linda of Lovingston, Connie Gates and her husband Charlie of Staunton and Holly Lynne Carter and her husband Randy of Lovingston; two grandsons, Matthew B. Kidd and Andrew L. Kidd; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at Whitten Monelison Chapel with the Rev. Glynn Coleman officiating. Interment will follow at Briarwood Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m., Monday, July 9, 2018, at Whitten Monelison Chapel and at other times at the residence.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Monroe Building Fund.
