

Andrew Nelson Coffey, age 84, a beloved resident of Madison Heights, passed away on Monday, February 26, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born on December 14, 1939, in Evington, he was the son of the late Jesse and Joyce Coffey.
Andrew was a devoted husband to his wife of 58 years, Sandra Coffey. Together, they shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and cherished memories. Andrew was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by three of his 11 siblings: Mollie, Fred, and Ammie.
Andrew's legacy of love extends to his four children, Michael A. Coffey (Tammy), Sharon L. Hale (Pat), Darlene K. Coffey (John Tucker), and Ted W. Coffey (Tiffany). His family was the center of his world, and he took great pride in watching his children grow and succeed. He was also blessed with 10 grandchildren, with one more on the way, and five great-grandchildren, who brought him immeasurable joy and happiness.
A man of faith, Andrew attended Temple Baptist Church where he was a member for 50 years.
Andrew was a truck driver for many years and retired from Burlington Industries. Andrew had a passion for the simple pleasures of life, including gardening, fishing, and spending time with his beloved dogs, Pukky and Baby. He found joy in the everyday moments and cherished time spent with family and friends.
In his leisure, Andrew enjoyed watching westerns and game shows, finding comfort and relaxation in their familiarity.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 3, 2024, from 6-8:00 pm at Whitten Monelison Chapel. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, March 4, 2024, at 11:00 am at Whitten Monelison Chapel with Pastor Pete Sudlow and Reverend Walter Yancey officiating. Burial will follow at 2:00 pm at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery in Evington.
