Born in Terre Haute, Indiana, December 3, 1951, he was the son of the late Arliss Clayton Bryan, Sr. and Joan Delores Pigg Bryan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Audrey Bryan.
Arliss was currently employed with Walmart. Prior to that he owned a local Subway franchise. He was a hard worker all of his life providing for his family. He was also a sports fan having been an avid Softball player in earlier years and loved coaching the kids in the Madison Heights Dixie Youth. He was a very sociable person, easily befriending those around him, never knowing a stranger, and found joy in the spotlight. He loved and believed in people and was always willing to do anything for anyone at any time. He proudly served his country in the US Air Force during the Vietnam era and attended Compassion Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Arliss Bryan, III (Stacy); four daughters, Delores “DeDe” Bryan (Leon Carter), Sabra Miller (Mark), Heather Hughes and Stephanie Bryan; 14 grandchildren, Tré Bryan, Alex Bryan, Jasmine Bryan, Arliss “Clay” Bryan, IV (Mikayla), Chloe Bryan, Trever Miller, Ariel Miller, Taylor Humphrey (Hunter), Hailey Johnston (Matt), Laci Gallier, Jordan Gallier, Bethany Hughes, Jessie Hughes, Chauncey Payne, Jayden Payne and Jerzey Bryan; three great grandchildren, Nathaniel Bryan and Khaza Bryan and Elsie Jo Bryan soon on the way; and his sister, Debbie Broadus.
A service celebrating his life and faith will be conducted 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at Compassion Church with Pastor Stephen Willis officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the American Legion Post 16.
The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
