

Born November 17, 1948, in Fayette, West VA, she was a daughter of the late Charles Ray Peters and Lottie Flanagan Peters. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Lynn Creasy.
Mrs. Cofflin was retired from Amelon Elementary School, where she worked in the cafeteria for 28 years. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
Survivors include four children, James David Creasy Jr., and wife Stacy, of Madison Heights, Bridget C. Tanner and husband Kenneth, of Lynchburg, Lisa C. Gunter and husband Chris, of Rustburg, and Jennifer C. Lee and husband Eric, of Evington; three brothers, Chuck Peters and wife Carol, of Kernersville, NC, David Peters and wife Vera, of Amherst, and Randy Peters and fiancée Cathy, of Madison Heights; four sisters, Dinnah P. Barnette, of Richmond, Connie P. Fluharty and husband Jim, of Madison Heights, Odell P. Foutty and husband Junior, of Madison Heights, and Vickie P. Moon, of Madison Heights; seven grandchildren, Danielle and Heather Camire, Jacob and Jesse Carter, Nathan Gunter, Adam and Alaiana Lee.
The family will receive friends Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011, from 7-8:30 p.m. at Whitten Monelison Chapel, and at other times at the residence.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 18, 2011, at the funeral home, by Pastors David and Chuck Peters. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park, officiated by Pastor Marvin T. Suitt.
