

Born October 3, 1942, in Glendy, MD, she was a daughter of the late Lewis and Virgie Branham Johns. She was also preceded in death by a brother, and a great-granddaughter.
She was retired from the Central Virginia Training Center after 32 years of service. She was a member of Our Fathers House Church, in Madison heights; a frequent visitor of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, in Monroe; and Blue Ridge Baptist, in Amherst. She was very proud of her Monacan Indian heritage.
Survivors include three sons, and a daughter, Delmar “Dale” L. Branham Jr. and wife Grace, of Monroe, Eric Branham and Joan Bateman, of Monroe, Aaron “Tink” Branham and wife Crystal, of Altavista, and Serena Mason and Danny Sweeney, of Madison Heights, 7 sisters, 6 brothers, 9 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews; and a very special devoted friend, Jack Watts of Monroe.
The family will receive friends tonight, Monday, from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at Whitten Monelison Chapel and at other times at Betty’s residence.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 18, 2012, at the funeral home, by Pastor Alan Monfils, and Minister Cynthia Branham. Interment will follow in St. Paul’s Episcopal Church Cemetery.
