Betty Hesson Hesson Brooks

Betty Hesson Brooks, 60, of Madison Heights, passed away, Friday, May 20, 2011 at Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born February 26, 1951 in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late Carl C. and Annie Layne Hesson. She was a former employee of First Colony Life Insurance Company and was a member of Amelon United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Brooks is survived by her son, Trevor J. Brooks and his wife, Jennifer of Gladys; two brothers, Donald L. Hesson and his wife, Faye of Forest and Benjamin L. Hesson and his wife, Linda of Elon; two sisters, Linda H. Phillips and her husband, Murrell of Akins, SC and Judith H. Roll and her husband, John of Murrells Inlet, SC; two grandchildren, Kendall Brooks and Hunter Brooks; her significant other, Roy Kirkland; an uncle, Bill Layne of Madison Heights; special friends, Sheila and Woodrow Bennett, Kenny Canody, and Missy Owens and devoted caregivers, George Tomlin and Heather Burks.

A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Monday, May 23, 2011 at Meade Cemetery in Madison Heights with the Rev. Dr. Paulo DaSilva officiating.

The family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m., today, May 22, 2011 Whitten Monelison Chapel.
