Born October 13, 1947, Faye was the daughter of the late Buster Gibson and Frances Thomas Wills. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Warren, Eddie, and Butch and two sisters, Nita Gibson and Brenda Chapman. Faye was a retired manager with Funquest Family Entertainment Center. She was a member of Calvary Cross Baptist Church.
Faye’s family was her heart and soul. She was a rock to the community and so many referred to her as “Momma Faye”. She leaves and impact on so many, words cannot express. She will be forever loved and missed, until we meet her again.
In addition to her husband, Faye is survived by her son, Timothy D. Mays (Tonya) of Monroe; her daughters, Katina “Tina” D. Sprouse (Tracy) and Michelle M. Tyree (Ronnie), both of Amherst; her brother, Wayne Wills (Delores) of Appomattox; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
A funeral service, to celebrate Faye’s life will be conducted at 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 11, 2024 at Whitten Monelison Chapel with Pastor E. Wayne Hudson and Pastor Sam Stump officiating. Interment will follow in Briarwood Memorial Gardens in Amherst County.
The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m., Sunday, March 10, 2024 at Whitten Monelison Chapel and other times at the residence.
