Dallas Elden Zirkle

Born May 7, 1938 in Nelson County, he was the son of the late Claude Wilson Zirkle and Hallie Maddox Zirkle and was also preceded in death by a brother, George H. Zirkle; a sister, Alice Faye O’Brien and a step-daughter, Elizabeth S. Swan. Mr. Zirkle was a retired truck driver with Great Coastal Express and was of Baptist faith.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Zirkle is survived by three children, Elden R. Zirkle and wife Rhonda of Amherst, Carolyn Z. Newman of Radford, and Daniel E. Zirkle of Richmond; a brother, Earl Zirkle and wife Jane of Amherst; a sister, Dorothy O’Brien and husband Hylton of Gladstone; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Friday, December 5, 2014 at Jonesboro Baptist Church Cemetery in Nelson County with Pastor Carroll Martin, Jr. officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:00 p.m., Thursday, December 4, 2014 at Whitten Monelison Chapel.
