

Danny Marshall McCauley, 67, of Madison Heights passed away Monday, January 5, 2015, at his residence. He was the husband of Betty Hall McCauley. Born August 30, 1947, in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late Marion Marshall McCauley and the late Violet Lucille Phillips McCauley.
Danny was a retired painter for Buffalo Air. He also retired from Rock-Tenn, after many years of service. Danny also served our country in the U.S. Marine Corps as a Tunnel Rat during the Vietnam War and he served in the U.S. National Guard. Danny earned several medals and recognitions for his service including Purple Heart, Vietnamese Service Medal with 2 Stars, Vietnamese Campaign Medal with Device, National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Letter of Appreciation, 81 MM Mortar Expert and the Rifle Marksmanship Badge for the M-14 and the M-16.
In addition to his wife, Danny is survived by two sons, Ray Hall and his wife Allison of Madison Heights and Aaron McCauley and his fiancée Corrie Carwile of Madison Heights; one sister, Patricia Johnson and her husband Woody of Lynchburg; two grandchildren, Drake Andrew Hall and Matthew Allen Hall, both of Bedford; one great grandson, Aiden Andrew Hall of Bedford; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
A memorial service will be conducted, 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 10, 2015, at Whitten Monelison Chapel with the Rev. Stuart Jones officiating. Military Honors will be presented by the United States Marine Corps. The family will receive friends following the service until 2:30 p.m. at Whitten Monelison Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled Veterans of America.
