Dennis Lawrence Peak, 62, of Madison Heights, passed away Sunday, October 6, 2013 at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of Deloris Saunders Peak.
Born August 8, 1951 in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late William Lawrence and Rose Matthews Peak and was also preceded in death by a brother, Brad Peak and a sister, Brenda Martin. Dennis was retired from Archer Creek Foundry and was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a member of the Lynchburg Church of God of Prophecy.
In addition to his wife, Deloris Saunders Peak, Dennis is survived by three children, Valerie Brooks and husband Tommy, Eva Martin and husband Jr., and Travis Peak and wife Shannon, all of Madison Heights; two sisters, Patricia Vernon and husband Nyle of Florida and Roxanne Cooper and husband Van of Madison Heights and eight grandchildren, Adam, Cody, Andy, Jacob, Jeremiah, Joshua, Sarah, and Ashlyn.
The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m., Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at Whitten Monelison Chapel. A funeral service will be held following the visitation in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Gary Vernon officiating. Interment with military honors by American Legion Post 16 will follow at Meade Cemetery.
