

Born in Lynchburg, August 1, 1950, he was the son of Dolly Drumheller Coleman of Madison Heights and the late Harold Grant Coleman. He spent his entire career working in the shoe industry at Craddock-Terry, Endicott-Johnson and Dexter Shoe. Don and Mary Ann then moved to China where he continued his career for the next fifteen years with Wolverine World Wide and lastly Skechers. Don and his wife loved to travel. They traveled many places around the world and made great friends wherever they landed. Their favorite place to visit was South Africa where they have many dear friends. Don also loved Christmas time and made their best Santa Claus at the many holiday parties. He was an avid sports fan and loved the Redskins.
He is survived, in addition to his wife and mother, by three cousins, Barry Carroll and wife Leigh Anne of Bedford, Johnny Carroll and wife Donna and G.L. Coleman and wife Diane both of Madison Heights and two aunts, Frances Carroll and Ruby Carrico both of Madison Heights.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 14, 2016 at Spring Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Larry Erbin officiating.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 13, 2016 at Whitten Monelison Chapel and at other times at the home of his mother.
Mary Ann has scheduled July 31, 2016 to celebrate Don’s life from 7 a.m. until Midnight in Bedford. Please contact family for location specifics.
