Dorothy McDonald Hall

Born September 30, 1918, in Lynchburg, she was a daughter of the late Josephine Parsons McDonald and John Ross McDonald. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Warren, Louis and Kyle McDonald; a sister, Marion Johnson; a son-in-law, Bobby Childress, and an infant son.

Mrs. Hall was a member of Sandy Bottom Christian Church, a homemaker, and a retired employee of Leggett’s Dept. Store.

Her soul is now resting in peace. She was a daughter, a wife, a mother, a grandmother, a great-grandmother, and a friend to many. All of it done with her own special brand of grace.

She is survived by four children, Wayne E. Hall and wife Louise, Harry R. Hall and wife Rhonda Nash, and Diane Childress, all of Madison Heights, Carolyn Rash and husband Wayne, of Clifton, VA, a number of grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; and a very special sister-in-law, Alice Burnett.

The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Monday, August 22, 2011, at Whitten Monelison Chapel.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 23, 2011, at Sandy Bottom Christian Church, by the Rev. Jim Freeman. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
