Eleanor Dean McConnell

Born on August 11, 1929 in Madison Heights, she was the daughter of the late Avery Lee Dean and the late Bessie Chumbley Dean. Eleanor retired from the Cooperative Savings Bank and was a member of Madison Heights Christian Church. She enjoyed sewing, being active in the church, and taking care of her family.

She is survived by sons, Michael W. McConnell (Susan W.) of Lynchburg, Greg McConnell (Sue) of Madison Heights, and Cary G. McConnell (Sandra C.) of Monroe; granddaughters, Corrine “Cori” Daniel and husband Addison IV, Kelly Rae McConnell and Julia Megan McConnell; grandson, Cole Grayson McConnell; great granddaughters, Reagan and Payton Daniel; great grandson, Addison Daniel, V; brother, Curtis “Buddy” Dean (Maxine); nieces, Diane Dean and Wanda Brockman; and numerous other family members and friends.

The family would like to thank the Neurological Intensive Care Unit at Lynchburg General Hospital - especially Cindi, Mason and Jessica for their compassionate care.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 pm on Sunday, May 20, 2018 at Whitten Monelison Chapel.

A graveside service will be held at 2 pm on Monday, May 21, 2018 at Fort Hill Memorial Park, with Pastor Todd Blake officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to a charity of your choice.
