
Born November 5, 1926, at 142 Van Buren St., Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of the late Lillian and Walter Beaumel. She was also preceded in death by her beloved
brother Wally, as well as a special grandfather George Nelson Joyce.
She was a homemaker and community volunteer all of her married life. She was very
involved in East Meadow UMC, Monroe UMC, Rustburg UMC, the Amherst Woman's Club, and the Central Virginia Area Agency on Aging.
She is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Walter Ecklund, and son-in-law Richard Howard Ecklund, of Lynchburg, and Joyce Walter Lifshin, of California; her grandson, Christopher Andrew Ecklund, and his family Ravyn and Galen; a granddaughter Erin Elizabeth Ecklund; two great-granddaughters, Briannah Morgan Ecklund and Kennedy Gene Ecklund, all of Lynchburg; and a special cousin, Ellen Beaumel, of California.
A memorial service will be held conducted on Saturday, March 16 at 11:00 am at Monroe United Methodist Church, by the Rev. George Riggins. She requested no flowers, but that any donations in her memory are made to the Amherst Woman's Club and Monroe United Methodist Church.
She wanted it known that her favorite Bible verse was Matthew 25:31-45, a verse
she tried to live by every day.
