Evelyn Gowen Harmon

Evelyn Gowen Harmon, 78, of Madison Heights, passed away on Monday, May 24, 2021. Born on March 14, 1943 in Appomattox, she was the daughter of the late Homer and Mary Gowen. Evelyn worked for H & R Block as a Senior Tax Analyst and enjoyed reading mysteries and thriller book. She also enjoyed sewing and collecting cardinals. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister, Judy Chumbley. Evelyn is survived by her two daughters, Mary Sue Dayhoff and Jamie Nare; grandson, Zachary Nare; and brother, Sonny Gowen. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm on Friday, May 28, 2021 at Whitten Monelison Chapel. There will be no formal service.
