Florence Inge Mitchell Smith

Born August 7, 1947 in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late F. Leonard and Dorothy Martin Inge and was also preceded in death by a brother, Dudley Inge. She retired from the Central Virginia Training Center with more than thirty years of service.

Mrs. Smith is survived by three children, Theresa Mays and husband Craig of Pleasant View, Hollie Ashwell and husband Sherman of Thaxton, and Scott Mitchell and wife Crissy of Elon; one brother, Robert Inge and wife Debbie of Lynchburg; grandchildren, Colby and Justin Mays, Julia and McKayla Ashwell, and Landon and Alex Mitchell and a sister-in-law, Jeanie Inge.

She is also survived by three stepdaughters, Suzanne Steele and husband Raymond, Tammy Blackburn and husband Jay and Tina Simpson and husband Rodney and their families and a dear friend and Cousin, Charlie Perdieu.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 1, 2014 at Briarwood Memorial Gardens with Pastor Glynn Coleman officiating.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m., Sunday, November 30, 2014 at Whitten Monelison Chapel.
