Hugh Brown Swan

Hugh Brown Swan, 88, of Lynchburg passed away Sunday, July 19, 2015, at his residence. He was the husband of the late Mary Blanks Swan. Born January 9, 1927, in Buckingham County, he was the son of the late William W. Swan and the late Carrie Ragland Swan.

Hugh was a retired bookkeeper for Barker-Jennings Corporation, and he was a member of Thomas Road Baptist Church. He also served out country in the U.S. Army.

In addition to his wife and parents, Hugh was preceded in death by four sisters and one brother.

Hugh is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and many other loving friends.

A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 27, 2015, at Thomas Road Baptist Church-Pate Chapel with Pastor Jonathan Falwell officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park, where the American Legion Post 16 will present Military Honors.

There will be no visitation hours at the funeral home.
