Nécrologie de James Bridge Ianuzi
James Bridge Ianuzi, 84, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 4th in his home in Amherst, VA, with his wife, Lynda at his side. He was born January 19, 1940, in Syracuse, NY. He was proceeded to heaven by his parents Alfred N. and Doris Ianuzi, brother Nick Ianuzi (Carole survived) and step-son Harry W. Martin. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Lynda Lea Ianuzi; brothers David Ianuzi (Debbie) and Donn Ianuzi (Patti); sister Karen Hersam (Richard deceased); his children, Dona Watkins (Michael), Eric Ianuzi, and Lisa Samkoff (Charles) and grandchildren, Ethan, Ashton and Caitlin; step-daughter, Michelle Haajar (Michael); step-grandchildren, Alyssa and Zachary; and great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandson, nieces, nephews, and loving cousins. James was a graduate of Eastwood High School, a US Navy veteran, and served people through his many positions in his local churches in the Amherst and Lynchburg, VA and Syracuse, NY communities. He was known as Jimmy, Jim, Dad, Granddaddy, Uncle Jim… and Honey. He was a generous, warm, kind, thoughtful and trustworthy man, with a sense of humor played out in practical jokes. He put the Lord Jesus Christ first, and cared for his family, friends, and strangers needing a helping hand. For decades he supported the Reach Initiative International, a Messianic Jewish Ministry. He was an outdoorsman, who enjoyed studying the bible, Johnny Cash music, salmon fishing, road trips, action movies, joking, and sweet treats. A resourceful man, he could craft anything he set his mind to. He will be missed by many. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Reach Initiative International www.reachii.org. Family will receive friends at Whitten Monelison Chapel, 3966 S Amherst Hwy, Madison Heights, Virginia on Thursday, May 9, at 2 pm, followed by a celebration of life service at 3 pm. The service will be led by Pastor Marvin Busie.
