Born May 11, 1919, in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late William and Mary Norney Westwood. He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Mary W. Whitten, Eleanor M. Smrekar, and Dorothy W. Zimmerman; two brothers, Leonard and William Westwood; and a niece, June W. Jennings.
Mr. Westwood was a United States Army Airforce veteran, having served in WW II. He was retired from Gulf Oil Co.
Survivors include nieces and nephews, Betty Howell and husband Donald, and Patsy Whitten , both of Madison Heights, Donald Smrekar, Robbie Smrekar, Nancy Knott and husband Dave, all of Chicago, IL; brother-in-law, Ed “Pop” Whitten, of Madison Heights; great-great-nieces, Emily Grace Moore, Peyton Moore, Katelyn and Lauren Hamilton; grand-nieces, Charlotte Jennings, Carrie Moore, and Sarah Hamilton and husband Justin.
A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at Whitten Monelison Chapel.
