Joyce Hudson

Joyce Moore Hudson, 85, of Roswell, GA, formerly of Amherst, passed away, Sunday, April 4, 2010 at the Altus Hospice House in Atlanta, GA. She was the wife of the late Claude Sales Hudson.

Born February 25, 1925 in Wellington, TX., she was the daughter of the late Troy and Gertrude "Trudy" Lancaster Moore and was also preceded in death by one brother, Billy Moore and four sisters, Hope Maddox, Wanda Hoisager, Armel Keuttle, and Evon Hayes. She was retired from General Electric and was a member of the Amherst Baptist Church.

Mrs. Hudson is survived by two sons, Donald L. Hudson and wife, Star of Acworth, GA and Johnny L. Hudson and wife, Cindy of Raleigh, NC; one daughter, Sandra H. Bryant of Marietta, GA; six grandchildren, Beverly Minzenmayer, Ashley Hudson, Jamie Bryant, Matthew Bryant, Justin Hudson, and Teresa Holman-West and two great-grandchildren, Aidon Minzenmayer and Nathan Holman, III.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 9, 2010 at the Amherst Baptist Church. Interment will follow at the Amherst Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, April 8, 2010 at Whitten Monelison Chapel.
