

He was proceeded in death by his Father James “Budge” Cooper and Mother Mildred Wright Cooper.
Lawrence was blessed with a large loving family and is survived by he’s wife of 50yrs Sylvia Ridgeway Cooper, and their children Larry, Beth(Stuart), and Nicki(Leslie). He is also survived by his brother Jerome Cooper and his children Melody and Jerry(Jennifer) as well as his sister Julie Cooper. He is Granddaddy to 5; Lauren, Michael, Megan, Carrie and Charleigh. Widely known as “Bop” courtesy of his youngest granddaughter. He enjoyed a life full of adventure along side family and friends. Lawrence was a member of Amelon United Methodist Church where he sung in the choir for many years. He was also an avid golfer, a fan and supporter of UVA athletics and Packers Football. He is so loved and will be missed tremendously by many.
A celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday March 2nd 2022. The family will receive friends at Amelon United Methodist Church from 10am-11am with the service immediately to follow.
Lastly, Lawrence and his family are so grateful for Dr McNeil and the staff at Pearson’s Cancer Center for the care and support he received for years during his battle with cancer. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to Pearsons Cancer Center of Lynchburg in memory of Lawrence’s life.
