Lenora Gay Brooks

Lenora Gay Brooks, 86, of Gretna passed away Thursday, April 9, 2020, at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of her late first husband, Forrest Manley Crank and the late James Fillmore Eanes. Born May 21, 1933, in Chatham, she was the daughter of the late Ramsey White Brooks and the late Lillie Pearl Jennings Brooks.

Lenora was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Gay was also preceded in death by three siblings, Lamayra May Powell, Ramsey Brooks, Jr. and Alease Powell.

Lenora is survived by three children, Forrest Lynn Crank of Madison Heights, Kimberly Higareda and her husband Curtis of Davenport, IA and Denise Wright of California; one sister, Phyllis Kennedy and her husband Jim of Troutville; seven grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and other loving family members and friends.

A private, memorial service will be conducted at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
