Lillie Hubbard Williamson, 83, of Spout Spring, passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2024, at Tate Springs Health and Rehab. Born in Amherst County on August 14, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Steven Hubbard and Gracie Lawhorne Hubbard.
Lillie was retired from Moore’s Country Store and was a longtime and active member of Calvary Baptist Church. Her dedication to the church was evident through her involvement in various ministries and her work with the children. Known for her excellent cooking, Lillie was beloved by the kids at church for her wonderful cookies and chocolate fudge. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Lee Williamson, and ten siblings: William Hubbard, Bob Hubbard, Steve Hubbard, Ed Hubbard, Freddie Hubbard, Preston Hubbard, Charles Hubbard, Margaret H. Bryant, Mary H. Tyree, and Doris H. Tyree.
Lillie is survived by her two sons, Henry L. Williamson, Jr. and his wife Dawn of Lynchburg and Dale Williamson and his wife Christina of Chatham; three grandchildren, Paige Williamson-Adams, Sebastian Williamson, and Logan Shorter; and a special friend from church, Doug Perrow.
Lillie will be remembered for her kind heart, her dedication to her family and community, and her delicious treats that brought joy to many.
A service celebrating her life and faith will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Chad Harris officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
