Malcolm Lewis O'Brien

Born in Amherst County, August 11, 1936, he was a son of the late Myrtle Garland O’Brien.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Kimberly O’Brien Flannery and her husband Michael of Amherst and Monica O’Brien Wiles and her husband Chris of Forest; one sister, Alma Watts of Richmond and three grandchildren Chelsea Wiles, Jacob Flannery and Emily Flannery.

Mr. O’Brien was retired from the Lynchburg Foundry. He was also a carpenter for many years and enjoyed woodworking. He was an avid sports fan, especially racing and playing golf. He also loved the outdoors and gardening but loved being with his grandchildren most of all. He attended Clifford Baptist Church.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 26, 2013 at Clifford Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Fitzgerald and the Rev. Greg Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in Amherst Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. today at Clifford Baptist Church.
