

Born July 19, 1938, in Martinsville, Virginia, Ed was the son of the late Howard Casey Wilson and Dorothy Virginia West Wilson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Karen Burke Wilson; his daughter, Ginger Wilson; and his brother, Bob Wilson.
He is survived by his sons, Casey Wilson (Cassie) and Marvin E. Wilson, Jr.; his daughter, Kameron Wilson; three grandchildren, Kynslee Wilson, Knox Wilson, and Bryce Viar; and his sisters, Linda Orcutt and Margaret Davis. He is also survived by numerous extended family members and friends who cherished him dearly.
Ed was the founder and owner of Wilson Insurance Agency of Amherst, a business he built through hard work, dedication, and a dynamic personality that made him a natural at connecting with people. To know Ed was to love him. He possessed a great sense of humor that never wavered, even during his illness, and his laughter and warmth left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
A devoted Atlanta Braves fan, Ed also enjoyed hunting and was an active participant in the Rockbridge County Big Mountain Hunt Club. He loved spending time in North Myrtle Beach, but his favorite place was his camp on the James River, where he could fish, relax, and escape the busyness of life. Above all, Ed was a man who loved deeply and was loved by all who knew him.
