

Minabelle Williams Arthur, 84, of Madison Heights, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 9, 2015. She was the loving wife of the late Howard Board “H.B.” Arthur, Jr., of Madison Heights for 56 years. Born September 5, 1930, in Madison Heights, she was the daughter of the late James Ransell Williams, Sr., and the late Jessie Camden Williams. She was also preceded in death by her siblings Lois Huff, James “Jimmy” Williams, Jr., Hazel Alvey, and Edward “Ed” Williams.
Minabelle was a dedicated homemaker, mother and grandmother as well as a talented seamstress, making everything from doll clothes to wedding gowns. She was a faithful member of Randolph Memorial Baptist Church.
She is survived by a son, Dr. James Howard Arthur and wife Cindy May of Amherst; a daughter, Linda A. Foster and husband Charles of Madison Heights; six grandchildren, Laurie Oliver (Scott), Michael Arthur (Sabrina), John Foster, Benjamin Arthur, Timothy Arthur, and Katelyn Foster; two sisters, Mary Tyree and Sterling Fitzgerald (Lincoln); and one brother, C. Russell Williams (Janice).
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 on Saturday June 13 at Randolph Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Derik Hamby officiating. Interment will follow at Meade Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday June 11 from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Whitten Monelison Chapel. The family would like to thank the staff of Fairmont Crossing Nursing Home for their care and dedication.
