Peggy B Martin

Born on September 10, 1936 in Halifax County, she was the daughter of the late Harry Vernon Brizendine and Willie Singleton Brizendine.

Peggy loved children and her family. She enjoyed being around her own as well as babysitting for others.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by three brothers, Harry Brizendine, Thomas Brizendine, and James Brizendine; and her sister, Virginia Brizendine.

Peggy is survived by her husband, Marshall Martin; two sons, Michael Thomas Martin and wife Pamela and Jeff Martin and wife Shawn; four grandchildren, Nicole B. Anderson, Andrew Michael Martin, Matthew Thomas Martin, and Richard Wayne Moore and wife Laura; two great grandchildren, Rilynn and Rowan Moore; her brother, Charles “Sir Charles” Brizendine and wife Doris: nephew Patrick Brizendine ; niece,Tammy McBride; and a host of other nieces, nephews, and other family members.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 pm on Monday, September 21, 2015 at Whitten Monelison Chapel.

A funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at Faith Baptist Church with Rev. Brian Hudson officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery in Amherst.
