

Born on May 3, 1947 in Amherst County, she was the daughter of the late Hayes and Annie Branham.
Phyllis served as the lay Minister and Priest at St. Paul’s Episcopal Mission for over 20 years. She loved sharing worship with her congregation and lifting her voice in song. Phyllis was also instrumental in establishing the Monacan Ancestral Museum and worked with former Chief Ronnie Branham to secure state recognition for the tribe.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy Branham and Harry W. Branham.
In addition to her husband, Roy, she is survived by her sister, Pamela Tolitol and husband Fernando; sister-in-law, Geraldine Branham; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and the entire Monacan Nation.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm on Monday, March 16, 2015 at Whitten Monelison Chapel. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Mission, with Chief Sharon Bryant officiating. Interment will follow at St. Paul’s Cemetery. Following the funeral and committal at the cemetery, there will be a luncheon held at St. Paul’s Parish Hall.
