

Born in Madison Heights, October 14, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Norman Tyree and Margaret Susan Turner Tyree. Phyllis was retired from the Central Virginia Training Center after 20 years of service. She was a longtime member of the Lynchburg Seventh-Day Adventist Church where she served as an Elder and Sabbath School teacher. While growing up, Phyllis and her sister Lois were avid softball players. She also enjoyed following her children and grandchildren in their many activities and ballgames.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Sterling Brent Hulsizer; her son-in-law, Dennis Evans; three brothers, Norman Tyree, Jr., Aubrey Tyree and Howard Tyree and three sisters, Nora Linebarger, Lily Baker and Lois Straw.
She is survived by three children, Donna Wright Campbell and her husband Tony, William “Billy” Wright, Jr. and his wife Lisa and Terri Evans all of Madison Heights; one brother, Homer Tyree of Madison Heights five grandchildren, Carrie Christian and husband Scott, Cassie Wilson and husband Casey, Joshua Wright and wife Feather, Jacob Wright and Kailey Evans and eight great grandchildren.
A service celebrating her life will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 15, 2015 at the Lynchburg Seventh-Day Adventist Church with Pastor Dale Long and Pastor Charles Olivieri officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service and at other times at the home of her daughter, Donna.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Lynchburg Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 19 George St., Lynchburg, VA 24502 or the Alzheimers Association, www.alz.org.
