Born on May 10, 1936 in Madison Heights, he was the son of the late Albert M. Staton and Mary H. Staton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Ann Stewart; brothers Terry J. Staton, Leonard P. Staton and Sherman R. Staton.
Robbin proudly served his country in the United States Army and after his service worked at Intermet Foundry for over 40 years until retirement. He loved fishing, gardening, doing yardwork and spending time with his family and church family. He was a member of Madison Heights Baptist Church where he served for many years as a deacon and Sunday school teacher.
He is survived by his high school sweetheart, his wife of 64 years, Shirley M. Staton; nieces Vickie Essex (Clive), Cynthia Franklin, Mickey Chappelle (Kirt), Tammy Williams (David), Kathy Burgess (Keith), Julie Ayers, Donna Wright (Al); nephews William Morcom (Renee), George Morcom, Rick Morcom (Bernadine), Greg Morcom (Kim) and T.J Staton Jr. He and Shirley loved and cherished their nieces and nephews as their own.
A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Madison Heights Baptist Church with Pastor Tim Madison and Pastor Nathaniel Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Briarwood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
