Ronald David Hawkins

Born October 3, 1936 Ronald was the son of the late Leroy David Hawkins and Hilda Walker Hawkins. A member of Thomas Road Baptist Church of over 46 years, Ronald knew and loved his Lord and Savior and built strong ties to his community as the owner operator the Cobbler’s Shop Inc. for 50 years. Ronald was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. One of his favorite things to do when he wasn’t working was to read his books.

In addition to his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by his daughter Carolyn Wooldridge and his sister Loretta Foster.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 67 years Phyllis Scott Hawkins; his children Ronnie Hawkins and his wife Cameron, David Hawkins and his wife Beth; Chris Hawkins, Michael Hawkins; his grandchildren Ben Hawkins, Matt Hawkins, Jami Hull, Lauren Hawkins, Summer Hansen, Jennifer Hawkins, Danielle Pickeral, Candie Lawhorne, Whitney Owen and T.J. Wooldridge; special niece Cheryl Winn; and fifteen great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 19, 2023 at Whitten Monelison Chapel.
