Shelby Jean Sprouse

Shelby Jean “Jeannie” Fitzgerald Sprouse, 78, of Madison Heights passed away Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Heritage Green. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Simon E. “Bunny” Sprouse. Born in Nelson County, July 22, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Woodrow E. Fitzgerald and Jeanette Banton Fitzgerald. She was a member of Shipman Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. One brother, Woodrow Lee Fitzgerald preceded her in death. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Hubert Ray Sprouse of Madison Heights; two grandsons, Stephen Ray Sprouse and Matthew Scott Sprouse and seven great grandchildren. The family would like to gratefully acknowledge the nurses and staff of Heritage Green and Gentle Shepherd Hospice for the wonderful care and attention they provided. A memorial service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, December 6, 2018 at Whitten Monelison Chapel with Dr. Mike Fitzgerald officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
