

Born February 24, 1942, in Weston, West Virginia, he was a son of the late Leo F. King and Sara Fisher King Doggett.
Mr. King was a retired United States Navy Commander, having served for 34 years. He was a retired math professor at CVCC, and was currently employed at Areva, for 40 years, as a nuclear engineer. He was a member of the Church of the Epiphany in Amherst.
Survivors also include his daughter, Marianna Victoria deLyon, of Amherst; his brother, Chuck Doggett and wife Gail, of Cartersville, GA; niece, Dawn Cathleen Cannon, of Cartersville; great-niece and great-nephew, Caroline and Christopher Cannon; nephews, Ryan Patrick Doggett, of Leesburg, FL, and Joseph Brian Williams, of Fort Hill, SC; mother-in-law, Edie McKinney Burch, of Lynchburg; sister-in-law, Pamela Burch Williams and husband Scott, of Madison Heights; niece-in-law, Jamie Williams Kuehni and husband Mike, of Bury St. Edmunds England; great-nephews-in-law, Caden and Christian Kuehni, other relatives and many friends.
The family will receive friends tonight, Sunday, September 4, 2011, from 7-8:30 p.m. at Whitten Monelison Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 5, 2011, at the Church of the Epiphany, in Amherst, by Father Kevin Spaeth. Interment will follow in Amherst Cemetery., with military honors by American Legion Post 16.
