Sylvia Bryant Bailey

Sylvia Bryant Bailey passed away February 24, 2019. She was predeceased by her parents, Baxter Hundley Bryant and Lillian White Kenton. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Franklin M. Bailey; her son, Franklin Deon Bailey of Madison Heights; her daughter, Katrina Leigh Bailey of Madison Heights; and, her daughter, Shannon Bailey Davis of Amherst. She is also survived by her sister, Martha Baldwin Bryant of Charlottesville; her step-mother, Mary Ann Bryant of Lynchburg; her aunt, Joyce Newcomb of Lynchburg; and her sister-in-law, Geraldine Meadows of Amherst.

Sylvia wrote poetry and was published all over the world. She earned a Culture Doctorate of Literature. She loved animals, especially Sandy, her English Pointer and Pebbles, her dwarf bunny. She was of Baptist faith.

There will be a graveside inurnment at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 5, 2019, at Fort Hill Memorial Park in Lynchburg, Virginia. The family will receive visitors at the home.
