Wantina Elisa Beaddles Uthup

Wantina Elisa Beaddles Uthup, 55, of Madison Heights passed away Saturday, October 15, 2016, at her residence. She was the wife of 40 years to the Rev. Jacobkutty Uthup, who is a retired U.S. Army Veteran. Born June 26, 1961, in South Boston, she was the daughter of the late Howard Merritt Beaddles and the late Margaret Rice Beaddles.

Lisa was a retired child care worker for Thomas Road Baptist Church and a member of Northside Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Lisa was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Beaddles; one sister, Jackie Beaddles; and one brother-in-law, Victor Davis.

In addition to her husband, Lisa is survived by two children, Jaya Gross and her husband Rev. Andrew Gross of Fredericksburg and Elizabeth Briggs of Chesapeake; four siblings, Dennis Beaddles and his wife Kellie of Sneads Ferry, NC, Mark Beaddles and his wife Tracy of Sneads Ferry, NC, Robin B. Davis of Mebane, NC and Rhonda B. Briggs and her husband Mickey of Burlington, NC; six grandchildren, Tristan Briggs, Jonah Gross, Micah Gross, Samarah Gross, Nehemiah Gross and Ameliah Gross; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 19, 2016, at Northside Baptist Church with the Rev. Andrew Gross officiating. Interment will follow at Meade Cemetery.

The family will receive friends, 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, October 18, 2016, at Northside Baptist Church and at other times at the residence.
