He was born in Virginia on July 7, 1950, son of the late Oscar J. Creasy and Mae O. Creasy. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Hall and brother, Cecil Creasy.
Wayne worked for AMG and loved to hunt and fish. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was an active member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart Lynchburg Chapter #1607 and was a director with the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter #196.
He is survived by his wife, Donna D. Creasy to whom he had been married for forty nine years; daughter, Tracey Dickerson; son, Brandon Creasy and wife Amy; sisters, Dorothy Watts and husband, Clyde, Cathy Irvan, and Phyllis Creasy; 4 grandchildren, Rebecca “Hotdog” Dickerson, MaKenna “Rocky” Dickerson, Olivia “Muffin” Creasy and Gabrielle Reichard. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews as well as a special niece, Christie Eubank.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Whitten Monelison Chapel with Gary Witt officiating. Burial will follow at Briarwood Memorial Gardens with military honors by Lynchburg American Legion Post #16. The Patriot Guard Riders will also be providing honors for Wayne’s service.
The family will receive friends from 5 – 8 pm on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at the funeral home.
