

Born in Lynchburg, July 27, 1950, he was the son of Nancy C. Henson of Lynchburg and the late William Wade Henson. Wade was retired from Babcock and Wilcox and was a member of Madison Heights Baptist Church. Among his favorite hobbies was antiquing with his father. They would buy, sell and trade antiques and collectables. He was also an avid Virginia Tech fan. Wade was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by one daughter, Courtneay “Corrie” Henson Kelly and her husband Brendan of Charlottesville; one son, William Wade “Chip” Henson, III and his wife Olivia of Leesburg; four grandchildren, Elizabeth “Beth” Kelly, John “Jack” Kelly, William Wade “Will” Henson, IV, Charles Robert Henson and one grandson on the way; one sister, Monica Midkiff of Lynchburg and his father and mother-in-law, Ralph and Ella Abrams of Lynchburg.
A service celebrating Wade’s life will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. Friday, April 8, 2016 at Whitten Monelison Chapel with the Rev. Todd Blake officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service until 7:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Madison Heights Baptist Church, 329 Main St., Madison Heights, 24572, or to a charity of your choice.
