He was born in Radford, on March 24, 1963, son of James C. May, Jr. and Franeda S. May.
Ken was a member of Elon Evangelical Presbyterian Church. He loved fishing, working on the family orchard, and was a big Virginia Tech football fan. He also loved all his pets and enjoyed the mountains and would often take a drive along the Parkway just to see all the mountains beauty.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother, James C. May, III and wife Kathy, sister, Catherine May Lotspeich and husband Phil; nieces, Kelsey LaFleur and husband Aaron, Emily Lotspeich; nephews, Zachary May and Joshua Lotspeich; a special cousin, Terry Layne; great nephews, Parker and Luke LaFleur. He is also survived by his loving pets, Panda, Mollie, Cemba and Lacie.
The family would like to offer a special thanks to Centra Hospice, Horizon, the Pastor and members of his Elon church family, and the Alan B. Pearson Regional Cancer Center for all the love, devotion and care that they gave Ken during his illness.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, October 29, 2018 at Elon Evangelical Presbyterian Church with Pastor Barry Tucker officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
