

Alice was born at Big Otter, W.Va., on March 5, 1933, to the late Raymond and Hettie Keener Rose. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She devoted her life with taking care of a daughter with special needs. She loved going to Myrtle Beach, shopping and sing gospel music. She was of the Baptist Faith.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Smith.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 59 years, John W. Brannon; daughters, Susan Brannon at home, Tammy (John) Carter of South Charleston and Debra (William) Brogan of Charleston; sisters, Elvira Holcomb of Ohio, Mildred Bullard of Charleston, Ona Gray of Maysel and Bertha Jones of St. Albans; brothers, Frank Rose of Leroy, George Rose of Ovapa and Garland Rose of Ivydale; grandchildren, Alyssa Carter, Audrey and Sophie Brogan; great-grandchildren, Preston and Marissa Lynn; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held 1 p.m., Friday, December 30, at Stevens & Grass Funeral Home, Malden, with Pastor Mike Long officiating. The burial will follow the service at Sunset Memorial Park, South Charleston. A visitation with family and friends will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, December 29, at the funeral home.
