Dave proudly served in the Army from November 1959 – October 1962 and spent the majority of his time in the Panama Canal Zone. He later attended Diesel School in Chicago and started his career at Walker Machinery in 1963. Dave served many rolls at Walker including, but not limited to, Mechanic, Supervisor, Mentor and Friend.
After retiring from Walker, he worked from his home garage helping anyone that needed his help. His ability to troubleshoot problems, and his ability to fix anything, was well known by everyone.
Over the years, Dave enjoyed his family, hunting trips with his brothers, boating, watching planes fly, multiple road trips, and sitting on his swing watching the wildlife. Dave was always a very kind, patient, understanding, funny, and loving man. It is very difficult to express what a wonderful man he was, and how badly he will be missed by his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 21 years, Blanch M. Spradling; son Timothy L. Spradling; and parents Joseph and Ruth Spradling.
He is survived by his daughter, Tammy (Kevin) Walker of Charleston; grandson Devon M. Walker of Mannington; significant other, Judy Kline; brothers, Dallas (Geraldine) Spradling of Ripley, Paul (Carol) Spradling of Cross Lanes, Jerry (Jane) Spradling of Charleston, Eddie (Debbie) Spradling of Logan, and Steve (Connie) Spradling of St. Albans; sister, Judith Spradling of Charleston; and several nieces and nephews.
