Donald Eugene Cottrell

Donald was born at Mahan, WV on May 3, 1934, to the late Rome and Gladys Petry Cottrell. He retired from Owen-Illinois Glass Company in California with 29 years of service. He was a member of Hillsville Baptist Church in Union, California and after moving to Charleston he attended Southeast Church of the Nazarene.

Along with his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his first wife, Delores Faye Cottrell; and a son, Gregory Cottrell.

Donald is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Patricia Dawson Cummings Cottrell; daughter, Dawn Cottrell (Larry) of Winfield; son, Jeffery Cottrell of California; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; and many other extended family members.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday April 28, 2026, at Stevens & Grass Funeral Home, Malden with Pastor Bart Hodel officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, South Charleston.

A visitation with family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service.
