Donald was born and raised on Campbells Creek and attended DuPont High School. He proudly served his county in the US Navy and retired from Univar with 40 years of service.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, Kevin; parents, William and Elizabeth Ellis; and brothers, William Jr. and Robert.
Donald is survived by his wife, Violet; daughter, Lisa (Bud) of Ohio; son, David (Haley) of Charleston; grandchildren, Monty and Megan of Ohio, Addilyn of Charleston, Summer, Joy Lynn, Liam and Milo of Ohio; brother, Jerry (Jo) of Campbells Creek; sisters, Ruth, Connie (Raymond) of Charleston and Peggy of Ohio, Debbie (Don) of Georgia; and many nieces and nephews; and his dog, Bruiser.
Cremation has been honored and a Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday February 25, 2022 at the Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veteran Cemetery, Dunbar.
