Evan was born in Charleston, WV on June 25th, 2002. Evan graduated from South Charleston in June 2020, where he ran cross country. Evan had been accepted to WVU and was intending to pursue a degree in Finance.
Evan enjoyed playing video games with his brother, Andrew, Cousin Nathan, and Cody. Evan loved to spend time with his niece Peyton who he had great love for and could make her chuckle just by making funny noises at her. He loved her dearly. Evan followed sports closely, basketball was his favorite to watch. He was a dedicated Milwaukee Bucks fan and a diehard Green Bay Packers fan. One of the best moments he had was meeting Aaron Rogers and experiencing his first Packers game with his mom and brother. Fun fact about Evan, he loved to blurt out random facts anywhere from sports to animals to weather. He was a huge jokester and loved to play jokes on his aunt. He would randomly pop-out of a closet or corner wearing a ghillie suit. Ev just loved life and loved laughter! He had the hugest smile and made an impression on all who met him. He was an aggressive and compassionate board game player who hated to lose and at times maneuvered the game in his favor. (Insert sarcasm here) He looked forward to game nights with his brother-in-law Clayton and his sister Samantha. He also looked forward to trips to the Sauna with his sister-in-law and mom. One of Ev’s favorite things to do was to go to camp with Roy and play corn hole. He loved Summersville Lake. Ev was a huge music fan and shared that passion with his dad Ryan and their trip to the Bahamas to see the clear blue water. Evan was known for his golden locks and sarcasm, which he boasted that he gets that from his Uncle Justin who he looked up too. Evan loved adventures and finding unique and international foods to try. On his many trips to Pittsburgh he would request that we tried a different restaurant. One thing that Ev stated throughout his battle with cancer was that he never wanted to see another child go through this. He wanted to make sure his story was known and to continue to share after he was gone. We will honor this request by educating and sharing his story.
Evan Stowers will never be forgotten, his legacy will live on forever. He touched so many and left an imprint on us all. One thing Ev would want, is not to be sad, but to live your life. Watch the sun set and rise. Feel the fresh ocean breeze on your face and laugh till your belly hurts. Don’t sweat the small stuff, don’t wait for tomorrow, because tomorrow is not promised. When you speak of Evan, speak with joy, not sadness, learn random facts, and tell a joke, live life to the fullest!
