Hildred Louise Workman Graley

Hildred “Billie” “BB” Graley, 79, of Marmet, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. She was a kind person always finding the good in everyone, loved spending time with her family and a big animal lover. She was a member of the Marmet Community Church and loved her Lord. Billie was retired from the Kanawha County Board of Education where she worked at Marmet Elementary School. She loved her co-workers and especially the children. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Darrell Graley; her parents, Venie and Homer Workman; brother, George Workman; and sisters, Freda Porter, Phyllis Cochran, Eva Harless, Irene Allen and Sue Vance. Left to cherish her memories are her daughters and sons-in-law, Sheila and Gary Alderman and Leah and Rodney Melton; grandchildren, Robbie (Kim) Alderman of Chelyan, Missy (Tommy) Crawford of Marmet and Jada and MeiLea Melton of Marmet; great-grandchildren, Kaylyn and Chase Carroll, and Brandon and Jason Alderman. She was “Mamaw” to many, Austin Wilson, Tori and K’leb Alderman, Jenna, Alec, Ryan and Christopher Nguyen; and had many nieces and nephews who she loved dearly. The funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 15, 2016, at Stevens & Grass Funeral Home, Malden, with the Rev. Loretta Taylor officiating. The burial will follow the service at Barker Cemetery, Ashford, WV. Family and friends will gather for the visitation from 11:00 a.m. until time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home. Our family would like to thank Dr. Jarrod Chapman and his staff, Hospice staff, Jo, Susie, Renee, Hollie, and anyone else that helped Mom and our family with her last days.
