John Allen Blount

John graduated from DuPont High School; received an associate degree from Kanawha Valley Community & Technical College and a bachelor’s degree from WVSU. He was a paramedic and EMT with Boone, Jackson, and Kanawha Counties and leaves behind many stories associated with the medical field.

John wore many hats in his life. One was being the father to his daughters, Sarah, Emily, Allison and Morgan. He is also survived by brothers, Dale, Steve, and Keith Blount; sister, Lori Cooper; granddaughter, Everly Cook; and many friends in the medical field.

A Celebration of John’s Life will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 21, 2025, at Big Bottom Missionary Baptist Church, 1259 Campbells Creek Drive, Charleston, West Virginia 25306 with Rev. Fred Christian officiating.

The family invites everyone to stop by the Church starting at 2:00 p.m. until service time on Friday for a time of visitation.

The family would also like to thank the Fresenius Kidney Care Center and the CAMC transplant team for their care of John Allen.
