

The son of Iva Esther and Ola Melvin Woods, Kenneth grew up in Quincy, West Virginia. He was born on September 24, 1935, and attended DuPont High School. He married Betty Lee Alderman on December 20, 1955.
At the age of eighteen, Kenneth enlisted in the Navy. He valued this service highly and attained the rank of Chief Petty Officer. As part of this service, he served on multiple aircraft carriers including the USS Oriskany and USS Coral Sea. Upon retirement from the Navy, he was employed as a mechanic at Turnpike Ford and DuPont Plant in Belle.
Kenneth was a faithful member of the Diamond Baptist Church where he served as deacon for many years.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Betty Lee Woods, granddaughter, Brandi Christine Dimitroff and grandson, Ethan Joshua Dimitroff. He is predeceased by his daughters, Deborah Lynn Dimitroff (10/12/11) and Diana L. Wiseman (06/21/04). His loved ones will remember his faith, creativity, storytelling, and love of trains.
Celebration of Kenneth’s life will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, February 6, 2026, at Stevens & Grass Funeral Home, Malden, with Pastor Bobby Goldsburg officiating. Entombment will follow in Montgomery Memorial Park, London with Military Graveside Rites conducted.
Gathering of family and friends will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
