

Mary Helen Hammons, 88, of Malden, passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at the Golden Living Center, Glasgow following a long illness. Mary was born in Orgas on May 22, 1926, to the late Leonard and Esther Scott Brown. She worked for the former Owens-Illinois Bottling Company. She was a member of the Kanawha Salines Presbyterian Church, Malden and a homemaker. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Charles Hammons and five siblings. Mary is survived by her daughters, Linda (Roy) Osborne of South Charleston, Brenda (Red) Thomas of Spring Hill and Nancy (Joe) Repetto of Belle; brother, Richard (Diane) Brown of Sissonville; eight grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. The funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 10, 2015, at Stevens & Grass Funeral Home, Malden, with Pastor Alva Romeo officiating. The entombment will follow the service in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes. A visitation with family and friends will be held from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations be sent to the Kanawha Salines Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 60014, Malden, West Virginia 25306.
