Patricia Anne (Dawson) Cummings

Pat was born in Montgomery on December 22, 1933, to the late Norval and Mary Stine Dawson. She was a retired secretary with AEP and enjoyed being in the bowling league with her fellow workers. Pat was an avid gardener and cook and loved to feed her animals. While growing up she attended Winifrede Presbyterian Church and recently attended Southeast Church of the Nazarene.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Drexel Cummings and Donald Cottrill; brothers, Norval and Tommy Dawson; sisters, Helen Shank and Peggy Jackson.

Pat is survived by her sisters, Hazel Hawkins Creasey of Winifrede and Nancy (Charlie) Gibson of South Charleston; brother, Bobby (Nanci) Dawson of Cedarville, West Virginia; and several loving nieces and nephews; and her beloved cat, Princess.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 15, 2026, at Stevens & Grass Funeral Home, Malden with Pastor Bart Hodel officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, South Charleston.

A visitation with family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service.

The family would like to thank the staff at CAMC General Hospital for the care and compassion given to Pat during these last several days.
